DESCRIPTION: The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) was formed by the New York state legislature in 1970 as a public benefit organization.  CDTA has become the premier mobility provider in the Capital Region.  The CDTA mission “To Transport Customers Safely and Reliably at Reasonable Cost”, has been expanded “to deliver premier transportation services that people want and with quality that they can rely on.”

CDTA provides regular route buses, shuttle buses and paratransit service. CDTA subsidiaries  own and operate the Rensselaer Rail Station and the Saratoga Train Station and coordinate Medicaid transportation services and sponsors the NX Northway commuter service that operates between Saratoga County and downtown Albany. 

The experiential will include a tour of the Albany maintenance facility where buses are prepared and dispatched.  Executive Director Carm Basile will provide a brief overview presentation of CDTA’s plans for the future.
