DESCRIPTION: The Homeless and Travelers Aid Society (HATAS) works to prevent homelessness, shelter those who are currently homeless and put a permanent end to homelessness through affordable housing systems. This mission of HATAS is to be a point of entry human services agency that helps the poor, the homeless and others in need to lead independent, self-sufficient and safe lives in the community. HATAS serves more than 5,000 men, women and children each year, providing a variety of services:

–       Emergency homeless shelter access
–       Homelessness prevention
–       Counseling and case management for victims of domestic violence and people living with mental illness
–       Subsidized and supported housing for homeless people with disabilities
–       Employment services
–       Jail Diversion for non-violent offenders living with mental illness
